Jason Owen is the assistant dean of admission at Capital University Law School. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Allegheny College and his juris doctor from Capital Law. Prior to serving at Capital for the last five years, Owen practiced bankruptcy and child welfare law at a small firm in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. Active in Pennsylvania politics for nearly two decades, he worked closely with former Governors Tom Ridge and Mark Schweiker. His experience with the Law School Admission Council began in 2015 with his service on the LGBTQ+ Subcommittee. He continues to serve that committee, now known as the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Subcommittee, as chair. Owen is a 2019 graduate of Pride Leadership, United Way of Central Ohio’s leadership development program for LGBTQIA individuals.
